About This Building

Wright's last residential design — completed posthumously in Phoenix.

The Norman Lykes House was the last residential design Frank Lloyd Wright completed before his death in 1959. The house was built posthumously in 1966 from Wright's original drawings, perched on a hillside in Phoenix with sweeping views of the city. The circular geometry — Wright's "desert rose" motif — is carried through every element of the design, from the plan to the furniture. It is a private residence.
