About This Building

A Usonian gem nestled in the Laurel Highlands near Fallingwater.

Kentuck Knob is a Usonian house designed for I.N. and Bernardine Hagan, located just a few miles from Fallingwater in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. The hexagonal plan and tidewater red cypress and native sandstone construction exemplify Wright's Usonian ideals — a democratic, affordable architecture for middle-class American families. The grounds feature an extensive sculpture garden with works by major 20th-century artists.
