Harry S. Adams House

Oak Park, IllinoisCompleted 1913

About This Building

One of the last Prairie houses Wright designed before his extended stay in Japan.

The Harry S. Adams House is one of the last Prairie houses Wright designed before departing for Japan to work on the Imperial Hotel. The house shows the Prairie Style at its most refined — the long horizontal lines, the integration of interior and exterior, and the warm natural materials are all present in their most resolved form. It is a private residence on Superior Street in Oak Park.
