About This Building
Taliesin — Welsh for "shining brow" — was Frank Lloyd Wright's primary home and studio for most of his life. Built into the brow of a hill overlooking the Wisconsin River valley, the complex grew and evolved over decades, reflecting Wright's changing ideas and circumstances. It was here that he developed many of his most important ideas about organic architecture. The estate encompasses the house, studio, farm buildings, and gardens across 600 acres.
