About This Building

Wright's only government building — a sweeping arc of arches and blue spires.

The Marin County Civic Center was the last major project Frank Lloyd Wright designed before his death in 1959. Completed posthumously, the building features long arched spans that bridge two hills, with a distinctive blue roof and gold spire. It remains a functioning government building and is open to the public, housing county offices and a library. The building appeared as a futuristic setting in the 1997 film "Gattaca."
