Francis W. Little House

Peoria, IllinoisCompleted 1903

About This Building

An early Prairie house — Wright later designed a second, larger Little House in Minnesota.

The Francis W. Little House in Peoria was Wright's first commission for the Little family. Wright later designed a second, much larger house for the Littles in Wayzata, Minnesota (1913), which was demolished in 1972 — its living room was salvaged and is now installed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The Peoria house is a private residence.
